Late Call for travel bursaries for young researchers (DHd 2016 and EADH-Day)

The Association for Digital Humanities in the German speaking countries (http://www.dig-hum.de), CLARIN-D (http://www.clarin-d.net) and DARIAH-DE (http://de.dariah.eu) are offering three more travel bursaries for young researchers (up to 300,00 EUR each) for the DHd conference in Leipzig and / or the EADH-Day preceding the conference in March 2016. The Digital Research Infrastructures CLARIN-D and DARIAH-DE are strongly engaged in fostering new talents, and they joined forces with the DHd association to allow excellent young researchers to attend the Leipzig event (March 7th to 12th 2016).

Conditions of eligibility

Eligible for the bursary are young researchers (especially B.A. and M.A. students as well as PhD candidates) currently working on academic single or group projects, software projects, tools, studies, or (infrastructural) concepts, whose contribution to the main conference or the EADH day was accepted.

The candidates must have registered for the conference by the time they send their application. The extended application time ends on February, 18th (12pm). Application documents include: a one-page CV, a copy of the acceptation mail of the contribution, and the abstract that was accepted for the conference. Please send applications as one PDF document to: stipendien@dig-hum.de.

Awardees are committing to deliver a report at the latest two weeks after the conference. The format of the report will be determined together with the bursary committee. A contribution to the DHd blog (http://dhd-blog.org/), Social Media actions or other multimedia documentation are envisioned options, but further contribution forms can be suggested and will be discussed.

Selection criteria

  • quality of the abstract, especially its originality and innovation potential (scholarly, technical or methodical)
  • contributors not having been granted a bursary for a previous DHd conference will be favored.

In case of equivalent quality and if applications outnumber bursaries, the awardees will be picked at random. Legal recourse is excluded.

Awardees will be selected by a committee including an equal number of representatives of the DHd board, CLARIN-D and DARIAH-DE.

Notification

The awardees will be notified on February, 22th. They will be officially nominated during the conference. The reimbursement takes place after the conference; modalities of reimbursement will be communicated together with the notification.

Questions regarding the bursaries can be addressed in German, English or French to: stipendien@dig-hum.de.

Please note: The deadline for applications and the date of notifaction might have to be changed because proposals to the 2nd EADH day need to be reviewed first of all before they can be accepted.
